Lexie Lajambe (Sr. Ladies Singles) and the team of Caray Ford and Jamie Orlando (Sr. Ladies Doubles) represented CASS at OFSAA badminton in Stratford May 3-5. This was the first time ever that players from CASS have competed at this level in badminton. Lexie won her first match handily but lost her second to the #1 seed which dropped down to B flight. She lost her next match to a higher seed as well and was eliminated after that match from the tournament. Caray and Jamie ended up with a 3-4 record in C flight to capture "antique bronze", 4th place; the first ever OFSAA Badminton medal for CASS. Congratulations on a great season girls!
Beth (Buck) Tetreault was the closest to the button today at 13" at the Capital One competition in PEI. �She will shoot for $1000 000 tomorrow during the 4th end break of the Men's Finals on around 1:30pm Sunday (our time). �Beth is a former Athlete-of-the-Year whose son, Cody won Gold last month at OFSAA Curling with his team, and her daughter, Dana won Gold today at NOSSA Badminton; �the stars are aligning!:)

With 4 teams in the finals at NOSSA held at White Pines Fri./Sat. April 20-21, CASS won 3 gold and 1 silver. This is the best showing ever for CASS and 3 girls are making history as qualifiers for OFSAA in Stratford May 3-5; Lexie Lajambe, gold in Sr. Ladies Singles and CAray Ford and Jamie Orlando, silver in Sr. Ladies Doubles. Other NOSSA Gold winners were Dana Tetreault and Merrick Adams in Midget Mixed Doubles and Molly Campbell and Mack Barber in Jr. Mixed Doubles. Only senior participants qualify for OFSAA. The first ever Alumni Coed Nite was a great success with no teams shut out of championships and only a few no-shows. Thanks to Janis (Headrick) Gartshore for suggesting this event; it allowed a number of alumni to attend who couldn't during the Alumni Day on Friday. Current CASS students were pretty impressed by the competitiveness of Alumni and their strategies. Congrats to Team 2 who were the big winners with 6 championships.
